To help a greeting team pronounce a name, send the exact spelling plus a short pronunciation guide or voice note. Keep pronunciation instructions separate from the message to be performed.
Write the name exactly as it should appear
Use one final spelling throughout the order. If the person uses a nickname, decide whether that nickname should replace or follow the formal name. Include accents where relevant, and avoid submitting several possible spellings without explaining the final choice.
Break unfamiliar names into syllables
A guide such as “MAH-ya, emphasis on MAH” can be easier to follow than a long explanation. Pronunciation varies between people with the same written name, so use the recipient’s own preference. A brief voice recording can clarify the sound.
Label every instruction
Write “Name on board,” “Name pronunciation” and “Spoken message” as separate lines. If ordering in English for a recipient with a name from another language, confirm that the team can follow your guide. Ask about special language requests before checkout.
